The Hope Chest for Women grew out of a vision of the physicians and staff at Hope Women's Cancer Centers. The Hope Center’s gynecologic oncologists and their staff believe in treating cancer by caring for and supporting individuals physically, emotionally, and socially during their cancer treatment. Observing women make a choice between receiving treatment and providing for their families was so heart-touching that action was taken to establish The Hope Chest for Women, a 501(c)(3) organization, to help relieve some of the burden created by the costs of breast or gynecologic cancer treatment.
A Board of Directors was formed from among physicians, medical professionals, former patients, family members, and other individuals interested in helping women deal with these difficult issues. Governing documents were established to assure that women would be considered for assistance without regard to her attending physicians, religious affiliation, race, or any other discriminating factor.
If you are, or someone you know is, having to make these difficult decisions, make contact immediately for qualification assessment and assistance resources.

Spirit of Hope is dedicated to changing the lives of women with cancer through education, fitness, and emotional support. In a nine session series, women evaluate lifestyle habits including exercise, nutrition, stress management, and spiritual growth; and then, consider making helpful changes.
Classes are held twice a year and meet on Monday evenings at the Hope Center in West Asheville. The registration fee is $50.00 with proceeds going to The Hope Chest for Women. Scholarships are available to women who would benefit from these classes, but who cannot afford the fee.

HANDS of FAITH was conceived, after discussions with oncologists and many cancer patients, to fill an emotional void that arose after a cancer diagnosis. Medical professionals knew they could not meet all of the needs of a patient. Family, friends, coworkers, and the church community were often at a loss as to how to encourage individuals, but they were interested in providing resources and support. Joining efforts with the Billy Graham Strategic Ventures Ministry Team and the Christian Medical and Dental Association, director Jane Milam began training volunteers in churches, colleges, and workplaces to reach out to people dealing with any type of cancer.
If you are a pastor or community leader, have Jane come in to train and equip your staff or congregation. If you represent a college, ask Jane to come to your campus and offer training to your students and staff.

HONDURAS HOPE, an extension of The Hope Chest for Women, is a mission outreach to provide cancer awareness, healthy lifestyle options, and medical assistance to a third world country. Our foreign mission supporters travel to Santa Barbara, Honduras to assist the Hogar de Ninos orphanage and the INFA child care center, to make building repairs and do construction, to hold medical clinics, and to aid in agricultural and technical training programs. We have grown fond of the children and the Honduran people. Our Honduran associates express gratitude for our efforts to help their communities and we have been blessed by the friends we have gained.

“My first mission trip reminds me of my favorite aphorism, Life is like a box of chocolates…you never know what you will get, but it will be great! Honduras was an experience of a lifetime; it was a chocolate to be savored in my mind forever.”
